OPENING OF THE NEW VILLAGE HALL
CROWLE

18th June 2000

After many years suffering with a Village Hall that was almost falling down finally in June 2000 with the help of Lottery money and the sale of the old hall and site. The new Hall was opened by Katherine Mackie of BBC TV's "Midlands Today".

To make the occasion a little more special some music was performed by some of the members of the Stourport Band.

The acoustics were tested to the full and even with only half the band there (about 13 players) we were told we lacked volume controls!. I think to some extent this was due to the fact that no blinds, curtains or any form of deadening have yet been put in place so the sound does tend to bounce around.

2 pictures of the ensemble playing in the New Hall.

Not many people inside - I assume either it was near the end (notice the drinks lined up)
or
we were playing at fff

From Worcester Evening News on 7th August 1000...Only 7 weeks after the event!

Two pictures of a future Principle Cornet for Stourport?

Becky Fishbourne at 10 months, daughter of Helen & Neil our top cornets.

Perhaps if I obtain some pictures of other children of band members I will make a Stourport Band future Players page.
